Variety of grapes: Aglianico and Piedirosso
Exposure: South, Southeast
Altitude: between 150 and 220 meters AMSL / 492 and 721 feet AMSL
Type of soil: mainly sandy and shallow, but rich with excellent organic substances and nutrients, all on a deeper chalky rock layer
Planting system: the Aglianico is cultivated on both simple and bilateral Guyot espaliers, the Piedirosso on pergola
Planting density: 1450 plants per acre approximately
Year of implantation: 2003
Yield per acre: 2500kg / 5500 lb approximately
Harvest period: the first decade of October
Fermentation tanks: stainless steel of 30 hl / 790 gal each
Macerating process duration: between twelve and fifteen days
Malolactic fermentation: in 500 liters wooden barrels
Ageing: twelve months in French oak barrels of 500 l / 132 gal each, new for the 25%, of second and third passage the rest;
Ageing in bottle: at least twelve months.
